Students Welcome!
At Encounter Church we love to welcome students from all nations to come and be a part of the church family. We are delighted that our church is right in the centre of student land in Selly Oak and it is our privilege to host events and activities for those studying here.
During term time we offer free student meals, student connect groups, activities, table tennis, trips, music events, assistance with English etc.
We also work closely with Friends International, Agape, Fusion, Birmingham Christian Unions, UCCF and others to encourage, support and assist students. we are here for you! We believe that God has given us the privilege of being here for you and helping you discover Christ for yourself and then grow as a Christian. There will, of course be opportunities to be part of a Connect Group or volunteer to be a part of a specific ministry team (eg. the Worship team, Media Team, Community Work, Encounter Kids, Youth, etc) and to use the gifts and ministries that God has invested in you.
Freshers & Returning Students
If you’re a fresher and you’ve just arrived this summer (international students) or autumn then you will receive a special welcome. We have a team dedicated to planning activities for our all of our student be they freshers, 3rd years or post grad students.
